I’m not sure if you are from Wisconsin. If you are be sure to talk with the County Victim/Witness coordinator. According to Wisconsin law the bond must be used like restitution to help pay for lost wages and medical expenses.

I was hit by a second offender of drunk driving on June 26, and he was driving a friends car. I lay in bed with broken toes, wrist, and back and bruised lungs and heart while he walks out on a 1500$ bond. So i will contact my legislature, and, God willing, just as he did for me to remain alive, something may get done
